This semester long course introduces jewelry making as an art form of the past and present. A variety of media and tools are explored. The elements of art and principles of design are used to analyze, design, create and evaluate jewelry. The course combines aesthetics, art criticism and art history with studio production of jewelry and metalwork.

This semester long course enhances level-two skills through advanced exploration, mastery of techniques, materials, tools, and equipment to create a cohesive body of jewelry works. Emphasizes personal voice and decision making based on aesthetic choices while gaining inspiration from jewelry masters.

Jewelry Design 4                                                     Course Number: 50.0464001

This semester long course students demonstrate abilities and versatility with jewelrymaking techniques, problem-solving, and ideation. Develops mastery and quality in concept, composition, and execution of jewelry-making while showing a command of personal voice, ideas, and material choices. Jewelry works culminate into a final gallery showing. of jewelry and metalwork.
